Hey Candle Lovers!!

I would like to introduce you to my small candle business called Smithology Candle Co. We launched our candles in February 2023.

Smithology Candle Company was created by me, Shanika Smith-Williams. Most of my candles are center around my family members from their names and some of the unique sayings I heard from them throughout the years. My candle making started out as just something to do to amuse myself. My little sister told me she was going to make candles and I thought it was good idea. She had ordered some candle supplies and I helped her make her first batch of candles in her kitchen. It was an interesting experience because neither one of us knew or had a clue of what we were doing. It just became a great bonding experience between two sisters trying something new and enjoying our time together. When I returned home, I started watching YouTube videos about creating candles and I watched videos for at least 3 months. I registered for a virtual candle making class and booked an experience at Candle Land, both helped me determine that I wanted to make this my new hobby and maybe eventually start a candle business. I wanted to make sure this new hobby of mine was something I really wanted to indulge in. I started ordering candle supplies and made a sample of candles for my family, friends and colleagues. Most of them loved the candles and asked for more that’s when I knew I could combine my passion for entrepreneurship and creativity into a small business adventure.


Smithology Candles are made with a variety of candle waxes, like 100% soy and soy blend wax. We use high quality fragrance oils in each candle. Our candles are not your traditional company candle. They will fill your home with wonderful aromas. Our candles are sold in 7, 8 and 16 ounces. Prices range from $12.00 to $25.00 dollars. Candle jar color may vary depending on size.
